There are over 10,000 young people in Tameside who receive benefit related free school meals. The main aim of the Fuel 4 fun programme is to engage with these young people over the school holiday period. During this time, we offer FREE holiday activities, supported interventions and provisions; we also provide a healthy lunch and snacks throughout the duration of the delivery. Additionally, to this a healthy food hamper is delivered to the family home of each of the young people enrolled on the programme. The food hampers contain recipe cards, fresh fruit and vegetables. Fresh meat along with ambient products to create healthy meals. Developed alongside the NHS Children’s Nutrition Team it allows the families to be educated in healthy choices and to develop their knowledge surrounding a healthy lifestyle.
Tameside families in receipt of benefit related free school meals with children attending a Tameside mainstream school are eligible for a free place on one of the camps subject to availability. Booking is essential. SEND places are also available for more information please email fuel4fun@activetameside.com.
We also offer paid places on our Holiday Camps for those who do not qualify for the funding criteria. The Holiday Camps are a great place for children to learn, make friends and keep active during the school holidays.

“A big THANK YOU! I have never seen our children smile as such as they did when I asked them if they enjoyed themselves. Your camps have really made a difference. Thank you for running these camps over the easter holidays to support our families.”
– Lynn King (Millbrook Primary School)
“I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you. My son had an amazing time this half term at Denton. My son has ADHD and autism and it’s great to see him involved and loving the activities you provide. The camps are a great deal for him, and they really help me too. He enjoys every aspect of it and is really looking forward to the next half term.”
